The Valley & Ridge Region
The LandThe Valley and Ridge Region includes hills and long ridges with valleys between them. The region includes part of the Great Valley, which runs through the Appalachian Mountains. The valleys within the region are separated by ridges. Ridges are long, narrow hilltops or mountain ranges. The Shenandoah Valley was the first part of the Great Valley to be settled.
